“They were amazing!!The only other canelé I ever tried was from xxxxx. And yours exceeds theirs by a mile.Very crunchy but not the hard kind. Perfect sweetness. That soft fudgy and custard centre. Lots of vanilla flavour with hints of rum.Not too sure what rum xxxx uses but it might have been a rum extract/essence. It had a very distinct taste that I did not enjoy.All in all. A canelé or cannelé (pronounced ka-nuh-lay) is a small French pastry from Bordeaux, flavoured with rum and vanilla with a soft and tender custard center and a dark, thick caramelised crust. It takes the shape of a small, striated cylinder up to five centimetres in height with a depression at the top.
