Canelé, cannelé or cannelle?

..however you spell it, this French delight is sure to captivate your taste buds!

But beware: CANNELLE actually means cinnamon in French 🤭

Now canelé or cannelé? (Pronounced kah-nuh-lay) Both spellings are correct. CANELÉ (with an acute accent) is the traditional spelling while CANNELÉ is the worldwide favorite.

Fun fact:  Canelés have been a Bordeaux specialty since 1791, and are made with a secret ingredient that gives them their unique flavor and texture! The single ‘n’ version was adopted in 1985 by the Confrérie du Canelé de Bordeaux to distinguish their city’s signature sweet!
